With an often tree-like appearance, its cylindrical gray-green to blue stems can reach 10 metres (33 feet) in height and 10–20 cm in diameter as a self-supporting plant.
The large, cream-colored, nocturnal flowers remain open for only one night and are of vital importance to pollinating bats. The fruits, are edible! When cold, can taste like a mildly sweet shaved ice. Very pleasantly delightly.
Very hardy plant, grows well in warm clients but can tolerate a freeze.
Recommend covering for extended freezes though.
Please understand these are still a plant although very hardy during shipping conditions still need to be delicately handled. We try to package appropriately and we will do our best to provide that but we do not cover breaks on large cactus over 30" as they are very fragile.
